Boxer Undervoltage Error

My 2020 Peugeot Boxer (electric engine) is throwing an undervoltage error. Mileage is at 247445 km. Symptoms include weak starts, various system failures (ABS, traction control throwing errors intermittently), dimming headlights, and the battery seems weak when I crank it. I've checked and cleaned the battery terminals and measured the battery voltage – seems low even after charging. Any ideas before I start tearing into it?

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot Boxer. Undervoltage problems in these vans can be tricky. Have you load tested the battery? A multimeter voltage reading isn't always indicative of true battery health. Also, were there any recent modifications to the electrical system done?

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't load tested the battery yet, just surface voltage. Good point. No recent electrical mods either. What was your fix when you had the issue? Was it just a battery replacement, or something more sinister?

In my case, a load test confirmed the battery was toast. Replacing it resolved the issue. Before rushing out to buy a new battery, it would be advisable to bring the vehicle to a workshop to check the voltage regulator of the generator.

A local mechanic confirmed the battery was heavily discharged and defective, just like you suspected. I've replaced it with a new one. Total cost: 290€ Thanks a lot for the help!
