BR V damping adjustment fault
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Honda BR-V with a gasoline engine is experiencing a damping adjustment fault at 110,622 km, indicated by an error code and a warning light on the speedometer, resulting in a bumpy ride. Diagnostics suggest the problem may be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue on a different vehicle was resolved by checking the wiring harness and connectors for corrosion or loose connections, particularly around the shock absorbers. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connector, which was repaired for 95€.

Could you elaborate on which specific area of the wiring harness presented the problem on your Volvo? Any details you can provide would be most helpful.

Sure thing! On the Volvo, it was the connector right at the top of the shock absorber. Water had gotten in there and corroded the pins. Honestly, after messing with it, I just took it to the shop. Suspension stuff can be tricky, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

That sounds frustrating. I had something similar with my old Volvo XC60: bumpy ride, error codes. Check the wiring harness and connectors to the shock absorbers. Look for corrosion or loose connections. It could be a simple fix!
