BR V power window failure
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2017 Honda BR-V diesel, the power windows stopped functioning, showing a window regulator initialization error. This issue likely stems from the need to re-initialize the window regulator system, which can be disrupted by a battery change. Basic reset attempts, such as the up-down cycle, were ineffective, indicating a need for professional diagnostic equipment to resolve the problem. Ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop for proper re-initialization resolved the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried the up-down cycle on each window multiple times, but nothing happens. All windows are unresponsive. The window switches don't seem to do anything. Is there a specific procedure or tool needed for the re-initialization?

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me. The up-down reset didn't work in my case either. Given that all windows are affected, and you've already tried the basic reset, it probably needs a proper re-initialization using diagnostic equipment. I ended up taking mine to a workshop to have it sorted. Saved me a lot of headache. It's likely a software issue after the battery change.

Thanks, that's what I suspected. I'll book it in with a workshop then. The error code and symptoms pointed towards an issue of this sort. Turns out that was it. Cost me 290€ to get sorted, but at least the windows work again!

I had a similar issue with my BR-V after disconnecting the battery for some work. The window regulator needs to be re-initialized. Have you tried any reset procedures? Sometimes a simple up-down cycle will do the trick. Did all of the windows fail at once, or just one initially?
