Brio Coolant Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Brio experienced coolant loss, triggering the check engine light. Initial checks showed no visible leaks, raising concerns about potential internal issues like a head gasket problem. However, after further inspection and advice, a workshop identified a slightly leaky water pump as the cause, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! I glanced at the water pump and radiator cap, but didn't see anything obvious. Could it be something internal, like a head gasket issue?

It's possible. Head gasket issues can definitely cause coolant loss, but those are usually accompanied by other symptoms like white smoke from the exhaust or engine overheating. Also, sometimes air pockets can cause this. Given the symptoms and that you have no apparent leaks, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get a pressure test done. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and it turned out to be a slightly leaky water pump. Got it replaced for 52€ and the problem seems to be solved.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Brio, though I didn't get a check engine light right away. Keep an eye on it. It could be a few things. Have you checked for any visible leaks around the water pump or radiator cap?
