Brio Fault Memory Lock Undervoltage
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Honda Brio owner experienced a 'fault memory lock active' indication, with diagnostics pointing to undervoltage. This issue can be caused by a low battery voltage affecting the ECU. A suggested solution is to check and possibly replace the battery, followed by an ECU reset. This approach resolved the problem for another Brio owner, who recommended consulting a trusted mechanic to avoid complications.

Could you elaborate on the specific error codes you were encountering, and if the undervoltage was indeed the root cause?

I don't remember the exact codes, but there were a few related to the fuel injection system and one about the immobilizer. The workshop guys checked the battery and alternator and found the battery voltage was dropping pretty low when starting. They recommended replacing the battery and clearing the fault memory. Honestly, I'd take it to a trusted mechanic who knows these cars. Playing around with the ECU can be risky.

Based on your advice and further investigation, I took my Brio to a reputable workshop. The issue was indeed related to undervoltage, leading to the fault memory lock. The repair, including battery replacement and ECU reset, cost approximately 240€. Thanks again; your insights proved invaluable.

Hey! I have a Brio too, and I had something similar. My car kept throwing weird error codes, and the mechanic mentioned the ECU locking up. Did you check your battery lately? Low voltage can cause electronic gremlins, especially with the ECU. It might be worth a shot before you dive into anything too complicated.
