Brio gearbox slippage
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Brio is experiencing gearbox slippage and unclean shifts at 56,919 kilometers, with indications of transfer case oil wear. The suspected cause is defective gears within the transfer case. It is suggested to inspect for oil leakage around the transfer case seals and to have a thorough inspection at a reputable workshop to prevent further mechanical wear.

Thank you for your insight. I have not specifically checked for oil leakage. Where exactly should I be inspecting for this? I'm trying to gauge the extent of the potential issue before committing to a workshop inspection.

I found the leakage was most apparent around the transfer case seals. Given your mileage and the shifting issues, I strongly suggest a thorough inspection at a reputable workshop. Mechanical wear in the transfer case can escalate rapidly if left unchecked. It may be costly.

I appreciate the advice. I will schedule an inspection at a trusted workshop soon to address the potential transfer case issue. Thank you for sharing your experiences, it has been most helpful. The repair amounted to 330€ due to mechanical wear.

I have a Brio as well and experienced similar symptoms not too long ago. The symptoms you describe – gearbox slippage – align closely with my experience. Have you observed any oil leakage near the transfer case? In my case it was quite noticeable
