C Klasse engine light and power loss

I have a check engine light and reduced engine power on my 2014 Mercedes C Klasse diesel. Does this often indicate a sensor issue? I'm wondering if I should get the car diagnostics run to pull the error codes. The engine is running a bit rough, which I've heard can happen with a faulty intake air temperature sensor on these engines.

Yes, I had car diagnostics performed. The error memory says intake air temperature sensor defective.

Considering the error code and symptoms, a defective intake air temperature sensor is probably the cause. Replacing the sensor itself is straightforward. I would still have a qualified workshop do the work. They can verify proper installation and ensure no other engine issues are present. A repair cost of 155€ seems reasonable.
