C Klasse immobilizer problem

My 2017 Mercedes C Klasse hybrid is acting up The car immobilizer seems to have gone bonkers The engine won't start, or sometimes it'll fire up for like a second then just die There's an error code I'm guessing it's something to do with the key signal being wonky Is an immobilizer bypass even possible The workshop paperwork mentioned 45€ for reprogramming the key Does that sound right This anti-theft system is testing my patience

I have a C Klasse too and had a somewhat similar issue The security light was going crazy Did you try the spare key Does the car behave any differently

Tried the spare key, same thing The security light does flash a bit What exactly did you experience Was it the same start-stop thing, and did you also have an error code

Yes, it was exactly the same Brief start and then nothing I'm no expert, but it sounds like the key signal is the problem, which is an anti-theft system issue Probably best to get it looked at properly It looks like your key needs reprogramming

It's a relief to know someone else had the same problem Took it to the workshop, they reprogrammed the key like they said, and it seems to have sorted it Car starts fine now That car immobilizer issue was a pain, glad it's over
