C Klasse Oil Warning Light Help

I did check the dipstick, and the oil level appears to be normal. The OBD scanner is a decent one, a friend recommended it, but you're right, it might not be 100% accurate. As for the sensor connector, where exactly is that located? I'm not entirely sure where to find the oil level sensor to check the cable or plug. Any pointers on its location for this particular engine type? I'm trying to avoid taking it to the shop if it's just a simple connection issue, but I don't want to mess anything up either if it's more complicated.

Okay, good to hear the physical oil level is fine, that's a relief! Locating the oil level sensor can be a bit of a hassle. Usually, it's mounted on the oil pan itself, typically on the side or sometimes even on the bottom. You'll probably need to get under the car to see it. Since you are unsure and the oil pressure lamp is on, I would really advise you to take your car to a workshop. Without a lift and some proper lighting, it might be difficult to properly inspect the connector and wiring. A faulty oil level sensor can lead to bigger problems if not addressed correctly. They might confirm the issue, fix it with a new cable, and the 95€ repair cost seems reasonable.

Thanks for the advice! I'll take a look underneath the car, but based on what you're saying, I'll probably err on the side of caution and get it checked out by a professional. Better safe than sorry when it comes to engine oil and oil detection. I appreciate the insights!

That sounds like a real pain. Oil level sensor issues can be tricky on these newer cars. The flickering oil pressure light is concerning, though. Have you actually checked the physical oil level with the dipstick, if it has one? Just to rule out a genuinely low oil situation independent of the sensor. Also, how confident are you in the OBD scanner you used? Some of the cheaper ones can be unreliable for nuanced sensor readings. If the oil level is indeed fine, and the scanner is giving solid readings, then a wiring issue is pretty probable. Have you tried visually inspecting the sensor connector for any obvious damage or corrosion? Automotive oil issues are never fun, I hope you solve it quickly!
