C1 cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Citroen C1 diesel is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, an error in the memory, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a faulty PTC heater, which is responsible for temperature control. A similar case confirmed the issue as a defective heating element in the PTC heater, requiring replacement. It is advised to have the vehicle checked at a workshop to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, that's the one. Did you also have an error code? How did you confirm it was the heater, and what was the fix?

No error code initially, just the symptoms you described. Eventually, the light came on. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the PTC heater. The heating element was defective. Unfortunately, I had to replace the whole thing. Cost me around 350€. Better get it checked out before winter really hits!

Okay, thanks for the info! Sounds like I'll be heading to a workshop soon. Appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I'll post a resolution once it's sorted.

Hey, I had similar issues with my C1! Rough starts, especially when it's cold, and the fuel consumption was definitely up. I'm no expert, but it does sound like that electric auxiliary heater thing. It's responsible for temperature control, right?
