C1 fuel filter heater issue

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2006 Citroen C1 diesel. It's got about 71k km on the clock. I'm getting an error code related to the fuel filter heater. Besides that, the car feels sluggish, has reduced power, poor engine response and the fuel consumption has gone up noticeably. The engine is also idling unevenly. I've checked the obvious stuff, and from what I can tell, the wiring and plug connections to the fuel filter heater look suspicious. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my old Renault Clio, although it was a petrol engine. It wasn't exactly the same symptoms, but it did have a really rough idle and felt like it was struggling for power. Did you check the resistance of the heater element itself?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did check the resistance, and it seems to be within the expected range. That's why I'm leaning towards a connection issue. Was your problem with the Clio also related to a faulty connection?

In my case, it turned out to be a corroded connector on the fuel injector. It might be worth getting the C1 checked out by a workshop with proper diagnostic tools. They can probably pinpoint the exact problem quicker than you or I can.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I'll book it in for a check-up. Just got the bill: 95€. It was indeed the cable or plug connection of the component. Cheers!
