C1 reduced engine power

My 2006 Citroen C1 diesel is playing up. I'm getting reduced engine power and the check engine light is on. It's done 78505 km. I'm guessing it's something to do with the throttle valve, maybe the accelerator pedal module or the electronics inside are defective? Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2006 Citroen C1 diesel experienced reduced engine power and a check engine light, suspected to be related to the throttle valve or accelerator pedal module. A similar issue was resolved by checking the throttle body and sensor, leading to a diagnosis of a defective throttle valve. Diagnostics confirmed the throttle valve as the problem, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my C1. Check engine light, fuel efficiency went down, and it felt like it was in limp mode. Is the throttle body itself clean? Might be worth checking the throttle sensor too.

Thanks for the reply. How did you know it was the throttle valve? Did you have any diagnostics done, or did you just start replacing parts?

I had a mechanic run diagnostics. He suspected a defective throttle sensor and it turned out to be the throttle valve. It's a common problem, I think. I would advise you to go to the workshop for diagnostics.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Had it checked out and it was indeed the throttle valve. Repair cost 265€. All sorted now.
