C1 Tailgate Hall Sensor Error

My 2006 C1 with a gasoline engine is throwing an error related to the tailgate hall sensor. The tailgate only pops a bit. I've checked the wiring harness for breaks or corrosion, but haven't found anything. Could it be a faulty hall sensor, or am I missing something?

I had something similar with my C1. Did you check the plug connection itself, where it connects to the sensor? Mine had a loose connection, causing intermittent problems.

When you say 'loose connection', are we talking about a corroded terminal, or a physically loose plug? Was it obvious, or did you need to probe around with a multimeter?

It wasn't corroded, just not fully seated. I wiggled it while someone tried the tailgate release, and that's when we knew. You could test for continuity with a multimeter if you're unsure. Otherwise, with yours only popping a bit, I'd just take it to a workshop. Saved me hassle, and cost me around 95€.

Wiggling the plug didn't seem to work. Looks like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. I appreciate the insight. At least now I'm going in with a better idea of the issue and a likely repair cost.
