C2 Fault Memory Lock Active Error
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Citroen C2 is experiencing a 'fault memory lock active' error, with the only symptom being an error stored in the memory. The battery voltage and fuses have been checked and appear fine, leading to a suspicion of an undervoltage issue. A similar case was resolved by addressing a glitch in the ECU, which required reprogramming or replacing a faulty control unit. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired at a workshop.

Yes, I've cleared the codes multiple times, and they reappear after a short drive. Do you remember if your issue was constant, or intermittent like mine seems to be? Was there any specific module that was causing the problem?

Mine was pretty consistent, unfortunately. Clearing the codes was only a temporary fix, like putting a band-aid on a broken leg. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as a faulty control unit that needed reprogramming or replacement.

That's what I was afraid of. Sounds like I'll be booking it in with a garage then. The repair bill came to 240€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's good to know I'm not chasing a ghost!

I had something similar with my Citroen C2 (can't remember the exact year). Turned out to be a glitch in the ECU. It's like the car's brain momentarily forgets things, then locks up the memory to prevent further errors. Did you try clearing the fault codes to see if they come back?
