C2 idle air control valve issue

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2007 Citroen C2 gasoline. It has 186264 km on the clock. The check engine light comes on, and the error memory indicates an idle air control valve issue. The engine stalls at idle. I suspect a heavily contaminated intake. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had similar symptoms on my C2. Did you check the IAC valve itself? Maybe it's just dirty and needs cleaning.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the valve. It seems to be the intake that's causing the issue, I think. Did you try cleaning the intake manifold, or did you just replace the IAC valve?

I tried cleaning it at first, but it only helped for a short time. In the end, I had to get the intake properly cleaned and the IAC valve replaced. I suggest you go to a workshop, it's not something you can easily do at home.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to a workshop, and you were right. The intake was heavily contaminated, and the IAC valve was faulty. The total repair cost was 425€. It runs perfectly now!
