C2 Immobilizer Fault

I'm having an immobilizer issue with my 2008 Citroen C2, gasoline engine, 59210 km on the clock. The engine won't start, or sometimes starts briefly then cuts out. Error memory shows an immobilizer fault. Suspect it might be key programming.

I had similar issues with my C2. Exact same symptoms. Immobilizer light flashing? Did you try the spare key to rule out a faulty transponder in the main key?

Yeah, immobilizer light is flashing. Tried the spare key, same result. Did you ever figure out what exactly triggered the problem in your case?

Turned out the key needed reprogramming. Had to take it to a workshop with the proper diagnostic gear. They sorted the key coding and all was well. Best to get it checked out professionally.

Cheers for the advice. Workshop confirmed the key needed re-programming. Cost me 45€. Sorted now.
