C2 NOx Catalyst Exhaust Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Citroen C2 owner experienced a check engine light indicating a NOx storage catalyst aging issue and noticed an increase in exhaust fumes. This was suspected to be related to an exhaust leak. It was advised to inspect the exhaust system for leaks, particularly around the pipes and joints, or to seek professional help. The issue was confirmed to be a small leak in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter, which was subsequently repaired.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly should I be looking for leaks? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I can poke around a bit.

Honestly, unless you're comfortable getting under the car and inspecting the exhaust pipes and joints, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. It could be a small crack that's hard to spot, or a failing gasket. With those NOx errors, you don't want to mess around too much, as air quality is a big issue.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and it was a small leak in the exhaust system, right before the catalytic converter. Cost me 265€ to get it fixed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light, NOx issues, the whole shebang. Have you checked for any obvious leaks in the exhaust system? A small crack can cause all sorts of havoc with the sensors.
