C2 preheating lamp fault

Hi, I'm having a headache with my 2004 Citroen C2 diesel. It's got about 54k km on the clock. The preheating lamp isn't switching off, and the error memory is showing a fault. I'm suspecting a glow plug issue. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, although it was a petrol engine. The check engine light kept coming on, and the car had a rough idle, especially when it was cold. I never saw a preheating lamp, though. Was there anything else that you noticed?

Thanks for the reply! Besides the lamp and the error code, I haven't noticed any rough idling, but I'm concerned about potential engine combustion issues down the line. Did you manage to resolve your issue?

Yeah, eventually. It turned out to be a faulty sensor in my case. But, given your error code and the glow plug suspicion, it's probably best to get it checked by someone who knows their stuff. Could be a simple fix, or it could be more complicated. It is hard to say, I'm just a novice.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop and, as suspected, it was a defective glow plug. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for the help!
