C3 Automatic Transmission Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Citroen C3 diesel was experiencing automatic transmission issues, including strange shifting, a transmission warning light, and emergency mode activation. The potential causes identified were old transmission oil and undervoltage. The solution involved replacing the worn transmission oil, which resolved the shifting problems, and addressing the undervoltage issue.

Undervoltage? Can low voltage only affect the automatic transmission without affecting other systems?

Yes. My undervoltage caused weird things with the auto box. I took it to a shop. They found a bad battery and worn transmission oil. Have you thought about seeing a mechanic?

Undervoltage was the problem! The shop confirmed worn transmission oil, which they said was from the undervoltage. They replaced the oil for 240€, and the shifting is fixed.

Interesting. I had similar issues with my old Volvo, though not exactly the same. Have you noticed any other electrical problems, like dimming lights or slow starting? Maybe it's an undervoltage issue?
