C3 Battery Sensor Issue

My 2003 Citroen C3 gasoline engine is having trouble starting, and the lights are flickering. The battery feels weak, and I suspect the battery sensor. Has anyone seen this? What are the typical failure modes, and could it be more than just the battery?

Sounds like a bad battery sensor alright. Is the voltage reading all over the place?
