C3 diesel water sensor issue

My 2010 Citroen C3 diesel has the malfunction indicator lamp on, and diagnostics say there's an error with the water sensor. The engine is also running rough. I'm thinking it could be a bad cable or plug connection. Anyone seen this before?

I had a similar issue with my C3. Check engine light and rough running were symptoms of a faulty water sensor connection.

Can you tell me exactly which sensor connection you mean? I want to check the right thing.

I'm talking about the water sensor, usually near the fuel filter. Since you suspect the cable or plug, a workshop inspection might be best. It'll probably be around 95€.
