C3 Fuel Level Sensor Fault

I'm having fuel system issues with my 2017 Citroen C3 (gasoline engine). The check engine light is on, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle, especially when the fuel level is low. I've scanned the error memory and there's a fault code related to the fuel level sensor. I've checked the wiring to the sensor as best I can without dismantling half the car, but haven't found anything obvious. Is there a fuse specifically for the fuel level sensor on these models? Any thoughts?

Sounds like a pain. I've seen similar issues before. Before diving too deep, have you noticed if the fuel gauge on the dashboard is acting erratically? Does it jump around or show an incorrect reading?

Yes, the fuel gauge does seem a bit jumpy sometimes, especially when the tank isn't full. It's not wildly inaccurate, but it definitely fluctuates more than it used to. Does that point more towards the sensor itself being faulty rather than just a wiring issue?

Yep, the jumpy gauge seals the deal. The sensor's probably kaput. While you could try replacing it yourself, given the stalling issue, I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop. Could save you a headache down the road.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. Turns out the fuel level sensor was faulty, and the fluctuation was messing with the engine management. New sensor fitted, error code cleared, and all in it cost 52€. Runs like a charm now!
