C3 Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

My 2002 Citroen C3 diesel, with 186011 km, has a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. The check engine light comes on, and the engine stalls at idle, leading to reduced engine power. Suspect the pressure sensor is defective.

Ah, I experienced something similar with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms, but it was a nightmare trying to diagnose it. Is the engine light constant, or intermittent?

A constant engine light certainly points towards a persistent issue. While it could still be wiring, given the symptoms, it's most probable that the sensor is indeed faulty. I suggest having a workshop confirm it before replacing parts.

Thank you for the insight. Indeed, the workshop confirmed the rail pressure sensor was defective. Repair cost 240€, problem solved.
