C3 solar sensor fault

Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with my 2015 Citroen C3 (gasoline engine). The error memory stores a solar sensor fault, and the heating output is too low. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this before?

Hey, I had a somewhat similar issue with my C3. Check the connection to the sensor itself; it might be loose or corroded. The solar sensor (also called daylight sensor or sunlight sensor) tells the car how much sunlight is hitting it. The car computes this information together with the temperature sensor to regulate the heating system.

Thanks for the input. Where exactly is the solar sensor located on the C3? Any tips on how to access the plug connection to check for corrosion?

On mine, it's on the dashboard near the windshield. Honestly, it's a bit fiddly to get to. If you're unsure, wouldn't want to break anything, getting it checked at a workshop might be the best bet.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a loose connection, as suspected. The repair was 95€. Everything is working now.
