C3 Steering Angle Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The steering angle sensor on a 2019 Citroen C3 is causing issues, leading to heavy steering and vibrations, particularly at low speeds. Diagnostics indicate that the sensor's coding might be off, affecting traction control. Erratic angle readings suggest the sensor is malfunctioning. While recalibration might be attempted, professional diagnosis and repair are recommended due to the complexity and potential risks involved.

Thanks, I did use a diagnostic tool, and the angle readings are erratic, way off when the steering wheel is centered. And no, I haven't adjusted the steering column. Can you tell me more about recalibration, and can I do it myself?

Dodgy readings confirm the sensor's acting up. You might find DIY recalibration methods online, but with readings that erratic, it's likely more than a reset. My BMW needed a new sensor and coding at the shop. Save yourself the trouble and alignment issues, and get it checked by a pro. Steering components are risky without the right tools.

Thanks for the advice. Given the risks, I'm taking it to a shop for diagnosis and repair. They confirmed the steering angle sensor is defective and quoted 195€ for replacement and recalibration. Thanks again.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series. Same symptoms – heavy steering and shakes. Turned out the steering angle sensor was bad. Have you checked the sensor's live data with a scan tool? See if the angle readings are all over the place when the wheel's straight. Have you touched the steering column recently? Might be a simple recalibration.
