C30 Check Engine Light Air Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Volvo C30 owner reports a check engine light issue, suspecting a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. Another individual suggests checking vacuum hoses around the air intake, as cracks in these hoses can trigger the check engine light. The recommendation is to inspect these hoses or consult a workshop for a thorough examination and repair.

Thanks for your reply. No, I didn't notice any idle problems. Where exactly are these vacuum hoses located? Could you describe it a little bit more detailed, please?

They're near the air intake manifold, running to and from the air valve. Honestly, it's a bit fiddly to get to without proper tools. If you're not comfortable, it might be best to take it to a workshop. My issue turned out to be exactly that, and it cost me 175€ to fix.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the hoses and air valve.

I had something like that on my C30. Check all your vacuum hoses around the air intake, especially the thinner ones. They can crack and cause the check engine light to illuminate. It's like a leaky straw, messing with the whole system. Did you notice any idle problems?
