C30 climate control panel failure

Alright Volvo gurus, need some help! My 2008 Volvo C30 with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. The climate control panel is completely dead. I've got an error stored, the heat is barely working, and the AC refuses to kick on at all. I'm suspecting something electrical, maybe a loose connection or something. Has anyone else wrestled with this demon? I'm getting seriously annoyed!

Summary of the thread

A 2008 Volvo C30 experienced a complete failure of the climate control panel, with minimal heat and non-functional AC. The issue was suspected to be electrical, possibly due to a loose connection. A suggestion was made to inspect the wiring harness and connectors for corrosion or loose connections. The problem was resolved by a professional who identified and repaired a corroded connector in the wiring harness.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hmm, a dead climate control panel on a C30... Electrical gremlins can be tricky. Have you checked the wiring harness and power supply to the panel itself? Specifically, look for corroded or loose electrical connectors. I had a similar issue on an older V70 once, and it turned out to be a dodgy ground connection.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the wiring harness and connectors. Do you happen to remember which ground connection it was on your V70? Any specific areas I should focus on when tracing the wires?

Can't recall the exact ground point on the V70, it was a while back. However, given your symptoms and the stored error, a faulty connection seems probable. Given it's pointing to a bad cable or plug, you may want to get it looked at professionally before causing more damage to the electrics. I'd suggest going to the workshop.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to my local shop. Turns out it was a corroded connector in the wiring harness. They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of wire for 95€. Everything's working perfectly now!
