C30 Cruise Control Failure

Thanks for the quick reply. The error code is related to the cruise control actuator signal. I did check the fuses, and they all seem to be fine. If it's the actuator itself, wouldn't that be a more expensive repair than just a cable or connector?

Yes, if the error points directly to the actuator, then replacing the unit itself would be more costly than repairing a cable or connector. However, a faulty connection to the actuator can sometimes mimic a failing actuator. Given your description and the error code, and since you checked the fuses, I'd suggest having a workshop take a look at the wiring and connections before assuming the actuator is dead. They'll have the right tools to diagnose it properly.

Okay, that makes sense. I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on. It turned out to be a corroded connector on the actuator. They cleaned it up and replaced the connector, and now it's working perfectly again. Total cost was 95€.

It's not uncommon for seemingly minor electrical issues to cause cruise control problems. The system relies on various sensors and actuators communicating properly. Think of it like a chain – if one link is weak, the whole thing fails. What specific error code did you pull? Knowing that might help narrow down the possibilities. Also, have you checked the fuses related to the cruise control system?
