C30 engine control malfunction

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2010 Volvo C30 diesel. It has only 50410 km on the clock. Yesterday, the engine just wouldn't start. I've got an 'engine control malfunction' warning. I suspect the cable connections of the battery might not be good. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my C30. Check your battery connections thoroughly, clean them up, and make sure they're tight. Also, did the engine light come on before it refused to start?

Thanks for the tip! Yes, the check engine light was on for a little while before it finally gave up. Did cleaning the battery connections solve the problem for you entirely, or was there more to it?

Cleaning them helped temporarily, but the problem came back. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they found it was a dodgy connection causing the issue. Might be worth getting it properly checked.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I cleaned the connections as best I could, but it still wouldn't start. Took it to a local shop, and you were right – a corroded battery connection was indeed the culprit. Cost me 155€ to get sorted. Thanks again!
