C30 Fuel Level Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2006 Volvo C30 diesel exhibited a check engine light, occasional stalling, and a fuel level sensor fault code. The initial suspicion was a faulty fuel level sensor, with a suggestion to check the fuse and wiring harness for damage or corrosion. Upon re-inspection, a corroded connector was found and cleaned, resolving the issue without needing a new sensor.

Good call on the wiring! I checked it quickly, but I'll check again tonight. The error code was P0461. Does that help?

P0461 confirms a fuel level sensor issue, but not the exact cause. Since you've checked the basics and will check the wiring again, I suggest taking it to a workshop. Fuel system issues can be tricky, and messing with the fuel tank without knowing what you are doing can be dangerous.

Thanks! I re-checked the wiring and found a corroded connector. I cleaned it, cleared the code, and the stalling is gone! The dealer wanted 52€ for a new sensor – glad I avoided that!

A fuse could be the problem. What was the error code? Have you checked the wiring harness and connector to the fuel level sensor for damage or corrosion? These are common causes.
