C30 fuel pressure sensor issue

Hi, my 2007 Volvo C30 diesel is throwing codes and running rough. Symptoms include the check engine light, rough idle, stalling, and jerking when accelerating. Mileage is at 24533 km. I suspect the fuel pressure sensor, possibly a dodgy cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting inconsistent readings and suspect it's not the fuel pump or fuel injectors themselves. I'm leaning towards electrical before condemning the whole fuel system.

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my C30. Rough running, especially at idle, and the check engine light was a constant companion. Did you check the sensor wiring harness for any corrosion or damage? That's where my problem was.

Thanks! I visually inspected the harness and plug, didn't see anything obvious. Did your symptoms include jerking under acceleration too? And did you try cleaning the contacts before replacing the sensor or harness?

Yep, jerking under acceleration was definitely there. Cleaning the contacts didn't help in my case, sadly. Ultimately, I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They confirmed the sensor was faulty and replaced the connector as well. Best bet is probably to get it checked by a professional.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice! I brought it in. Turns out the fuel pressure sensor was indeed defective, and the plug was corroded as you suspected. New sensor, new plug, and a bill for 95€. Runs like new again. Cheers!
