C30 Fuel Pump Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Volvo C30 with a gasoline engine is experiencing starting difficulties, stalling, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light, indicating potential fuel pump issues. The initial inspection showed no visible wiring or plug issues, but further investigation revealed a defective cable to the fuel pump, likely due to corrosion causing a poor connection. The solution involved repairing the cable, resolving the symptoms and restoring proper engine function.

Good point about the corrosion. I'll double-check the contacts more closely. When you say 'bad connection,' do you mean a loose wire, or was it something else specifically? Was the pump broken?

In my case, it was corrosion causing a poor connection. The pump itself was fine, just not getting enough power consistently. I would suggest visiting a trusted workshop and letting them check the cable for defects. It might save you a lot of nerves.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the workshop and they confirmed it. It was just a defective cable to the fuel pump, which was causing the problems, like you said. Repair cost 95€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 207. Same symptoms: rough running, stalling, check engine light. Turned out to be a bad connection to the fuel pump. Have you checked for corrosion on the contacts? Sometimes they look okay, but there's a thin layer of gunk causing issues.
