C30 headlight range control fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo C30 owner is experiencing a headlight range control fault, with the low beam shining too low and a warning light on. The issue may be due to a loose connection or corrosion in the electrical connectors to the servomotor in the headlight. It is suggested to check these connectors and ensure the headlight switch is functioning properly. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective servomotor, which required professional repair.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly are those connectors located, and how would I test the headlight switch? Is it as easy to change as a light bulb, or is there a trick?

The connectors are on the back of the headlight assembly itself. Testing the switch requires more specialized tools. It's not like changing a bulb. I'd advise taking it to a workshop to avoid causing further problems. It's like fiddling with a clock: you might make it worse.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. Turns out it was a defective servomotor in the headlight, as suspected. Cost me 1040€ to repair. Thanks again for your help.

I had a similar issue with my C30. Check the electrical connectors to the servomotor in the headlight. Could be a loose connection or corrosion. Is your headlight switch working properly?
