C30 IAT sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Volvo C30 experienced a check engine light, reduced power, and rough running, suspected to be caused by a faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. Erratic and inconsistent temperature readings confirmed the suspicion. Replacing the IAT sensor resolved the issue, as confirmed by a similar past experience shared by another owner. The problem was fixed after visiting a workshop.

I did check the temperature readings, and they seem erratic and inconsistent. Could you give me more detail about the issue you experienced? Was it definitely the IAT sensor?

Yep. It was the IAT sensor. The readings were all over the place, like trying to follow a hummingbird. I replaced the sensor, and the problem disappeared. Unless you know what you're doing, I'd suggest taking your Volvo to a workshop. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the confirmation. Based on your experience and the symptoms, I'll replace the IAT sensor. I took your advice and went to the workshop, and it was indeed the IAT sensor, as you suggested. The final repair cost was 155€ Thank you for your time!

I own a C30 too (not a 2010), and this rings a bell. Sounds like trying to bake a cake with a broken oven thermometer! I had something similar. Did you check the temperature readings from the IAT sensor? Are they plausible, or completely off?
