Thank you. Could you explain 'door switch'? Are you referring to the physical switch inside the car, or something else in the door mechanism? I'm trying to understand where it is and what it does.

Sorry, should have been clearer. I meant the electrics inside the door handle itself – the sensor that tells the car the door's being opened. To be honest, tracking down the exact fault was a pain. Ended up just taking it to a workshop. Saved me a load of hassle.

Thanks. It sounds like a workshop is the way to go. I had a diagnostic performed and the defective cable/plug connection was confirmed. The total expenditure came to 95€ . Thank you again.

Sounds familiar. I've got a C30 too, and had weird electrical gremlins with the doors. Keyless entry packed in, just like you're saying. Did you check the door switch? That was my first thought when it happened to me.
