C30 radar sensor failure

I'm experiencing an issue with my Volvo C30, 2011 model with a diesel engine, mileage 135907 km. The radar sensor seems to have stopped working. I get an error message in the speedometer, and an error is stored in the error memory. This failure also seems to affect other systems in the vehicle, as indicated by a warning light in the speedometer. From what I've read, it might be just a dirty sensor. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hey! I had something similar happen in my C30. By 'radar sensor', you mean the one for the driving assistance systems, like adaptive cruise control? When that goes, it can throw off a bunch of other systems that rely on it. My speedometer was going crazy too! Was yours around the same mileage?

Yes, exactly that sensor. My adaptive cruise is disabled as well. Considering that our cars are almost the same age, it might be a common problem. Did you manage to solve it or did you have to go to a shop?

Yep, sounds like the same problem. I tried cleaning it myself, but no luck. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly to be honest. Probably best to get it checked by a professional, especially since it's affecting other systems.
