C30 Solar Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Volvo C30 owner reported a solar sensor error and low heating output, suspecting a bad connection or plug issue. A responder suggested checking the wiring harness for damage or corrosion, indicating a possible internal fault or deeper wiring issue. The owner later confirmed that a workshop diagnosed the problem as a cable or plug connection to the sensor, which was repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've had a quick look and couldn't see any obvious damage to the wiring, but it's pretty tight in there. Any specific spots I should focus on? And why do you ask where I'm located?

Okay, if visual inspection didn't turn up anything, it's likely an internal fault or a deeper wiring issue. Could be a break inside the insulation. Given the error code and low heat, I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop before chasing it too far. They can pinpoint the issue with proper tools. BTW, I was just curious if you're in a warmer climate where solar sensors might be stressed more often.

Appreciate the advice. I'll book it in. Turns out you were spot on! Workshop confirmed it was the cable or plug connection to the sensor. Repair came to 95€. Thanks again!

Solar sensor issue on a C30? Hmm, that's not super common, but definitely possible. Low heating output points to that circuit for sure. Have you checked the wiring harness for any obvious damage or corrosion near the sensor itself? Where are you located?
