C30 weak battery flickering lights

I've got a 2008 Volvo C30 diesel with 186983 km on the clock. Recently, the battery seems weak when starting, especially on cold mornings. The lights also flicker sometimes, which is concerning. I've checked the terminals and cleaned them, but the problem persists. I suspect a faulty battery sensor might be the culprit. Anyone experienced similar issues?

Hey, I have a C30 too! Sounds familiar... I had something similar happen a while back. Is the battery draining quickly, or just struggling on startup? Maybe test the voltage regulator?

Thanks for the quick reply! It's more of a struggle on startup, and the lights flicker intermittently, rather than a rapid drain. How did you eventually diagnose your issue? Was it definitely the battery sensor?

Yeah, symptoms sound almost identical. I messed around trying to figure it out myself, but honestly, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the battery sensor playing up. Saved me a load of hassle in the long run!

Appreciate the info! Sounds like the best course of action is to get it checked out professionally. Just had it done and indeed, it was the battery sensor. Cost me 315€, but at least it's sorted now.
