C4 Active Air Flap Fault

My 2018 Citroen C4 diesel has developed a fault. The check engine light keeps coming on, and I've noticed the engine is overheating more than usual, especially in traffic. Did a quick scan and it's pointing to an active air flap fault, something to do with the grille shutter. Anyone had similar issues? I'm guessing it is electromechanism defective.

Sounds like a problem with the active air flaps, which control airflow to the radiator. These flaps open and close to regulate engine temperature and improve aerodynamics. If they're stuck closed, it could definitely cause overheating. Are you sure the flap motor is working correctly?

I'm not entirely sure about the flap motor. I've had a look, but I don't really know how to test it. Where exactly is that located?

It's usually located near the radiator, connected to the air flaps. If the check engine light is on and the engine is overheating, I would recommend taking it to a workshop, it seems like an electrical problem.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. It was the electromechanism for the active air flaps that had failed, costing me 590€ to fix. At least it's sorted now!
