C4 Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault

I'm having trouble with my 2021 Citroen C4 gasoline. At 85583 km, the engine and sometimes the transmission warning lights come on. Error memory says it's a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. Also, the gearbox sometimes goes into emergency mode, slips or shifts poorly, and makes grinding noises when changing gears. It looks like the gearbox oil level might be low. Has anyone else seen this?

I had similar symptoms with my 2018 Volvo V60, though not a Citroen. The error codes also pointed to a pressure sensor fault in the transmission. I initially thought it was the sensor, but the symptoms were intermittent and specific to certain load conditions. Did you check the oil level, and if so, what did it look like?

Thanks for sharing. I checked the oil level, and it seemed a bit low. But I'm not sure if the low level is the only problem or if something else is affecting the sensor. Did adding oil fix your Volvo, or did you need more repairs?

Adding oil helped for a bit, but the problem came back after a few weeks. It turned out there was a small leak, which caused the oil level to drop slowly and trigger the sensor errors. With how bad your symptoms are, a professional diagnosis at a good workshop might be best.

I appreciate the advice. Given what you experienced and how the problem keeps happening, I'll book an appointment with my local Citroen service center. The repair cost 365€ because they replaced the faulty sensor and changed the oil.
