C5 climate control panel dead

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2005 Citroen C5 (gasoline engine, 99889 km). The climate control panel is completely dead. I've got an error stored, the heating output is way too low, and the air conditioning won't switch on at all. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else run into this? I'm thinking it could be a power supply issue, maybe the blower motor, or even just electronic faults in the wiring harness.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same problem with my C5. The climate control going haywire is super annoying, especially when you can't get any heat or A/C. Was thinking the control panel itself could be the culprit? Did you check the fuses? I am no expert, but that fixed it for me, once.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the fuses and they seem okay. By control panel, do you mean the physical buttons and display in the dashboard, or is there a separate module somewhere else that controls the climate functions? I'm trying to understand what exactly I should be checking.

Yeah, I meant the buttons and display in the dash. But if the fuses are fine, it could be more complicated. Honestly, I messed around with mine for ages and eventually gave up and took it to a workshop. They found a bad connection in the wiring harness. Cost me 95€ to fix, but at least it's working now. Save yourself the headache and let the pros handle it!

Okay, that's good to know. I appreciate the advice! Sounds like tracing the wiring harness is going to be a pain, so I'll probably just take it in. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
