C5 diesel cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Citroen C5 diesel is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, an error code related to the heater, and increased fuel consumption. The issue is suspected to be with the PTC heater. A similar problem was resolved by checking the electric auxiliary heater, which was confirmed as the cause and repaired at a workshop, resulting in improved performance.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the blower motor specifically, but all fuses related to the heating system seem to be fine. Was your issue also intermittent, and did you also see a noticeable drop in fuel efficiency?

Yes, the problem was intermittent, and fuel consumption definitely increased. Given your symptoms and the error code, the PTC heater is the most likely culprit. I recommend getting it checked at a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and confirm if it needs replacing.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was indeed the electric auxiliary heater. Repair cost me around 350€. Runs fine now.

I had a similar issue with my C5. Cold air blowing at startup, even when the engine should be warming up. Could be an electrical fault affecting the temperature control system. Have you checked the blower motor?
