Thanks for the quick reply! The fan blades look fine, nothing seems to be blocking them. And yeah, now that you mention it, there's a weird grinding noise coming from the car radiator area when the engine's hot. Could that still point to the speed sensor, even with the noise?

Acknowledged. The auditory emission you mentioned could implicate a degradation of the mechanical components within the fan assembly or the speed sensor itself. While I can offer anecdotal information, a proper diagnostic evaluation by a trained professional is warranted. In summation, it is my professional recommendation that you seek counsel from a certified automobile workshop at your earliest convenience.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on. Turns out the speed sensor was defective, leading to the fan not working properly and the overheating. Replaced it for 250€, and everything seems to be running smoothly now. Thanks again for your help!

Greetings. I operate a Citroen C5 as well, and have encountered comparable anomalies with my engine's thermal regulation. I suggest the problem resides, not necessarily in the fan apparatus itself, but in the interconnected sensors which govern its actuation. What is the condition of your fan blades? Are they impeded? Are you experiencing atypical auditory emissions originating from the cooling system?
