C5 Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault

I've got a 2013 Citroen C5 diesel with about 84000 km on the clock. Recently, the engine warning light came on, and the error memory shows a fault related to the transmission oil pressure sensor. I've noticed the gearbox occasionally goes into emergency mode, sometimes slips when shifting, and I even hear a slight grinding noise. Could this be a faulty pressure sensor, pressure switch, transmission sensor, or maybe even something related to the oil level?

Hey! I drive a C5 too, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Engine light, weird shifting, the whole deal. Did you check your gearbox oil level? That was the culprit for me.

Interesting! I haven't checked the oil level specifically. Was it difficult to access, and is there a specific type of oil I should be using if I need to top it up?

Access isn't too bad, but honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. You need the right kind of oil, and if it's low, there might be a leak somewhere. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – the gearbox oil level was indeed low. They topped it up, checked for leaks, and replaced the pressure sensor while they were at it. Cost me about 365€, but the car is running smoothly again. Really appreciate the help!
