C5 Uneven Engine Jerking Acceleration

Hey, my 2011 Citroen C5 with a gasoline engine is driving me nuts! It's got 232743 km on the clock and the engine is running really unevenly. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the error memory has a stored error. Plus, it's jerking like crazy when I try to accelerate. Could it be the air filter or maybe the oxygen sensor? Or worse, the spark plugs or crankshaft sensor? I'm getting engine misfire vibes...

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my C5 a while back. Check Engine light, the whole shebang. Jerky acceleration is super annoying, I feel your pain. Did you notice any difference in fuel consumption or any weird smells coming from the exhaust?

Yeah the jerky acceleration is the worst! Fuel consumption seems normal, but I haven't really checked for smells. What was the cause of your issue and did you get any of the error codes?

Okay, so I didn't notice any fuel consumption issues either, but my mechanic found a tiny leak in the exhaust system. Apparently, that was enough to throw everything off. I'd say get it checked out. Might save you a headache trying to diagnose it yourself. The error codes were related to the O2 sensor readings being off, but it was the exhaust leak causing it all. A new exhaust pipe section and I was good to go.
