C6 Automatic Temperature Control Issue

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2009 Citroen C6 3.0L gasoline engine. The automatic temperature control has stopped working. I noticed the air conditioning system doesn't switch on anymore. I hooked it up to a diagnostic tool, and it's showing an error related to the interior temperature sensor. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Any ideas?

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my C6, though I can't recall the exact year. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. For me, the climate control was acting up, and it turned out to be a faulty connection to the temperature sensor. Did you check the wiring and plug connection to the sensor itself? That's usually the culprit.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that sensor located in the C6? And how difficult is it to access the wiring and plug? I'm reasonably handy, but I don't want to start dismantling half the dashboard if it's a complex job.

On mine, it was located behind the glove box. It's a bit fiddly to get to, but not impossible. Honestly, if you're not 100% confident, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Could save you a lot of headaches. They can diagnose it properly and replace the sensor or fix the wiring quickly.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective cable to the temperature sensor. They repaired the connection, and the climate control is working perfectly again. Total cost was 95€ Much appreciated!
