C6 Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

I have a 2005 Citroen C6 diesel with only 33913 km. I'm getting a persistent tire pressure sensor fault, with a 'Tire pressure too low' warning and an error message. Error memory confirms a fault code. I suspect the sensor battery. Has anyone else experienced this with their C6?

Hey! I had almost the same thing happen with my C6. The error message drove me nuts. I kept checking the tire pressure, even inflating them a bit more each time, but the warning never went away. Did you try checking the air valve itself? Maybe there's some gunk in there messing with the sensor?

Thanks for the response. I didn't consider the air valve. Could you elaborate on the specific checks you performed on the valve? Were there any signs that led you to suspect it?

Honestly, I'm no expert. I just fiddled with it a bit. I probably made it worse! Eventually, I caved and took it to a workshop. They said it was a faulty sensor and replaced it. Cost me around 280€, including the sensor and labor. Probably best to just get it checked out properly.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems prudent to seek professional diagnostics. The repair cost you cited provides a useful benchmark. I shall proceed accordingly and report back with my findings. Your contribution has been invaluable.
