C70 Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
The audio system in a 2009 C70 diesel failed completely, with no sound from the radio, CDs, or Bluetooth, and a blank display. A diagnostic tool indicated an infotainment error without specific codes. The issue was suspected to be the display unit, which was confirmed and resolved by replacing the faulty unit, restoring the audio system's functionality.

No crackling or cutting out, it just went silent. Did yours also throw an error code, or was it just dead?

Mine was completely dead too, after some speaker crackle. I'd bet a beer that the display unit is toast. Get it checked; could be faulty wiring, but it sounds like a faulty head unit.

Appreciate the input. You were spot on. It was indeed the display unit. Cost me 725€ to replace it. Audio is back, but the wallet is lighter.

I had a similar issue with my C70. Was the sound cutting in and out before it died? Or any weird crackling from the speakers?
