C70 cold start issues
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Volvo C70 diesel is experiencing cold start issues, rough running when cold, error codes, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning PTC heater, as indicated by prolonged cold air blowing. The suggested solution is to check the electrical connections to the heater and potentially replace it, with a recommendation to consult a workshop for proper diagnostics and repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the connections yet, to be honest. I'm not really sure where to start looking. And yeah, it's definitely blowing cold air for longer than it should be on these cold mornings. How did you resolve your issue?

Okay, cold air points strongly to the PTC heater being the culprit. I went through the same rigmarole. Honestly, unless you're really comfortable with electrical diagnostics, I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. Mine ended up needing a new heater, which cost around 350€. It's annoying, but it sorted the problem completely.

Appreciate the advice! Sounds like I'm heading down the same road. I'll book it in with a workshop and see what they say. Hopefully, it's just the heater and nothing more serious. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Sounds familiar. I've got a C70 as well, though I can't remember what year exactly. Had similar symptoms last winter – rough cold starts, error codes popping up, and the fuel economy went south. Did you check the electrical connections to the heater? Also, is it blowing cold air when it should be warm?
