C70 Cylinder Pressure Fluctuation
Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2009 Volvo C70 involved fluctuating cylinder pressure, increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and an intermittent check engine light. Initial diagnostics suggested these were secondary symptoms of an undetected fault. Potential causes considered included the crankshaft, head gasket, spark plugs, turbocharger, and piston rings. Ultimately, the problem was traced to a faulty sensor, which was repaired under warranty.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the issue you encountered with your C70, and whether the symptoms align with those I've described?

Yep, those were the exact same symptoms. Loss of power, fuel consumption went up, and the check engine light was on constantly. Best to get it checked by a workshop, they'll diagnose it properly.

Following your advice, I had the vehicle inspected at a certified workshop. It turns out the issue was a faulty sensor, triggering a cascade of error messages related to cylinder pressure. The repair was covered under warranty, resulting in no cost. Thanks for your assistance.

I had a similar issue with my C70. Have you checked the piston rings? They're known to cause those symptoms.
